Thoughts of a middle aged man…..15 April 2012

This morning I had a visit from my very excited 9-year-old grandson Cody, he caught his first fish. It was probably about 8 or 9 inches long but to Cody it was a big barramundi, he was so proud he was almost bursting. He is just gorgeous and I love him to bits, I am so very proud of all my grandchildren.

To sit and have a conversation with Cody is just amazing, where he is today compared to where he was 12 months ago, he is a wonder. For those of you who don’t know this wonderful little boy has had a bit of an uphill struggle, but he is a trooper and he is getting there. Keep it up my beautiful boy.

I watched a damn good game of football today, the Hawks versus the mighty Adelaide Crows. Now while the Crows got well and truly trounced they did not give up as in previous years, I think their best is yet to come. The final result did not really reflect the quality of the game, or am I just too one-eyed?

Every time you turn on the television of late there is something about the Titanic  and I am in Titanic overload. Granted it was a tragedy and I would never wish to make light of the memory of all those poor souls who were lost, but enough is enough.

Now for the Logies, I remember the days when you could vote for whomever you wanted, now we are given a list of who we can vote for and I have to wonder just who decides who makes that cut. Are the Logies still the people’s choice, make up your own mind.
