I have had a very lazy day today. I went out early this morning to buy Brian’s birthday present, something he had seen at a local market that he mentioned he would like, a concrete lamb. We have collected quite a menagerie of concrete animals over the years so they lamb will not be lonely. He seemed happy enough when he saw it sitting in the garden.
Brian had a nice time in Robertstown, most of the people he cares about had contacted him for his birthday but he was happy to get home as his back was hurting, he still gets a lot of back pain.
He settled down to an afternoon nap and I settled down to an afternoon reading, very relaxing indeed.
Did anyone watch Dancing With The Stars, I think they got it wrong, Brian Mannix should have gone, or possibly Jessica Watson. I did feel sorry for poor Jessica, I had never seen anything so sad as her effort tonight, but then again it takes a lot of guts to go on national television and be judged so honestly. Good on you for giving it a go Jessica, things can only get better next week.
After DWTS came Bones, can you belive the schmaltz, and their baby was born in a manger, what a load of rubbish. Television has certainly gone down hill, some of these shows that were so good a few years ago have just run their course, even this current season of NCIS is not up to par.
One show that I am enjoying is Revenge which is coming towards its climax, the acting is good, the storyline is good, it will be a shame to see it go, but if the storyline has run its course it is better to end it on a high. I am also looking forward to the return of Downton Abbey, the second best show to come out of Britain after The Tudors which was excellent.
