Son number 3 Blake and his 4-year-old daughter Jade came for dinner tonight. I spent quite some considerable time marinating chicken and preparing a meal that turned out to be absolutely tasteless. The recipe came from a diet book, I am yet to find a recipe in on of these with any real taste.
Other than that it was a nice visit, Jade has so much personality and to see her playing with her Daddy just made me feel warm inside.
Now as you know I am writing a book, the jury is out over whether it is readable, but nonetheless I am writing it anyway. With my new-found confidence as a writer it made me think that just perhaps I may be able to eke out a living as a writer, or at least bring in some extra cash. Enter an advertisement looking for people to write for a living, there was a one-off joining fee which seemed reasonable, so after discussing it with Brian we decided I had not much to lose, just the small joining fee.
Today I joined this website and surprise surprise it is not what it is cracked up to be. Firstly everything appears to be in the USA, secondly you have to “bid” to get any job, similar to tendering not actually bidding as such. Before you can do all this you have to set up a profile for prospective “employers”, and as part of that profile you must have a photo however they do not accept file sizes over 500KB and all my photos are over that.
Looks like I still have to find a job the old-fashioned way!
